Middle of the Week Again

I get up at 7:00 AM and put on my make up and get dressed before I get Dad's breakfast and mine but I still can't get out the door for exercise until 8:10 AM. That doesn't leave me much time to walk before the exercise starts. Oh, well. Guess I'll have to get up at 6:30 AM!

Karen and I had lost our focus for our Wed. meeting, so we re-focused and we will be going to visit places we haven't been before. Today we went to the Veteran's Museum. It was interesting. They had artifacts from the Civil War to todays wars. We had a guided tour. Next week, we'll go to Decatur to the Cook's Museum. Love those bugs!

Our grass was getting pretty long and the grass cutters are here at 5:15 PM. Franks looks out and sees a patch of grass that doesn't grow too fast and he thinks the rest of the yard looks the same. We have such wild grass that you have to look at the entire yard before you realize it needs cutting.

Day Off

It felt like I had a day off today (off from what, ha-ha-ha-ha!). I helped Dad with some electrical wires and cut some bird papers. Our order from Omaha Steaks came in and we had fun looking over all the stuff that came. I will have stuffed Sole, stuffed with crab meat and misc.(!). I hope it is good. I can't taste many flavors so I hope I can taste this meat. Dad will have white beans, with a side order of green beans, milk and buttered bread! We'll have some gourmet hamburgers tomorrow for lunch.

We almost had some rain today. The temperature got up to 103 degrees but after the clouds and wind came, the temperature dropped into the 80's and it was really nice. No rain though.

Thursday, I'll be going down to my brother's house. His son, Bill, and his wife Lynn and son Will will be visiting. They (and Ruth) are going to the Space and Rocket Ctr. and I will go down in the early afternoon. This is the first time I'll see Bill and Lynn since they lost their daughter, Grace. I couldn't go to the funeral so I'm glad I'll get to see them.

Cut Play Doh with Scissors?

I don't know if I'm brave enough to let them at the Play Doh with the scissors! Then I would have tiny bits of Play Doh on the rug instead of paper. Who knows...(the shadow knows...) You have to be old to remember who the Shadow is. Actually, the Shadow was a mystery on the radio that I used to listen to. Back when there was no TV, one listened to the radio. I think it was on Fri. nights. There were children's shows on Saturday too. "If you go down in the woods today, you'd better not go alone....the teddy bears were having their picnic, picknick???or something.

I went to exercise today and stayed for the Golden Age Band. It was composed of people who played their guitars and fiddles and sang when they were young. Now they are old and they still play. They are a bit older than I am and the country music was not right up my alley. I'm glad I stayed to hear them but I don't think I will next Mon. Maybe I would if I sat with Jan Laytham and her mother. I sign in every time I go to exercise and with a Jan Layton and a Jan Laytham there was a small mix up. They thought someone was signing Jan Laytham in twice! I filled out some papers and got into the computer so now the mystery is solved. I saw on of Trudy's high school friends, Laurie Hodges there. She gave me her cell phone no. to give to Trudy.

I had no problems with the Effexor today so I'll wait until I have some of the same side effects before I go back to the Dr. If his office was in town, I might go on in, but I don't really want to drive to H'ville again. If I had some shopping to do it would be different...

Enough Meatloaf For An Army

The meatloaf got overcooked somewhat. I need to check my oven on it's temperatures. The meatloaf wasn't good, no matter how long it cooked. I'll keep it in the refrigerator for several days and then when trash day comes along, I'll TRASH it!

Primary was good today. The lesson was about sharing. My part of the lesson went well. We talked about sharing and I had some chocolate cookies as a treat that I shared with them. After that, I had copied some pictures out of the Friend onto card stock. The children colored them and then cut the figures out and glued them onto another piece of card stock. Sarah said she needed help cutting the figures out and I had to do hers. The other children knew how to use the scissors just fine. That activity took up all of the time. We made a mess, but two of the fathers helped pick up the tiny pieces of cut paper. I love it when Primary goes well! Now, to start on next weeks lesson and activity. I had my Play Dough just in case today, but we didn't have to use it. On of my kids won't be coming anymore because they were just visiting for the summer. Mia was a sweet child and I'll miss her. She'll be back next summer, but she won't be in my class, I don't think.

Frankie called tonight. He had the house to himself. Rachel and the little kids drove to GA to Mary Kate's house to pick up Josh and Kayla. They had spent 4 days with Mary Kate and her family. Frankie said his neck is getting better, but he still can't drive. He doesn't know if his job position will still be there or not. He'll find out this Wed. They gave their poodle, Coco, to a family with 2 children and he is getting lots of love and attention. With 4 children, he didn't get much one on one time with his family. I'm glad he's happy in his new home.

Lazy Saturday

I did go to the P.O. to mail a letter and package this morning. Then, I went to Wal-Mart to buy some groceries. I really didn't have much in my basket but it was $90.00! I thought it would be about $60.00 but NO. I bought some ground beer, ha-ha-ha! Ground beer-betcha didn't know you could get it that way! Ground beef, 2.25 pounds and 1 lb. of sausage. I found a Costco cookbook and found a meatloaf recipe in it. It wasn't until I got it all mixed up did I realize it fed 6-8 people! Boy, I surely hope it is good. That is a lot of meat for the two of us. I guess it will freeze well.

It rained some yesterday but not much. It rained again today but I couldn't tell how much. Yesterday, I finally got the Round Up out and sprayed the weeds in my flower spot. It had become so overgrown, that you couldn't see the stones with the sayings on them. I sprayed around the monkey grass. The man with the weed eater eats up the small patches of monkey grass that I have. The Round Up package was a sprayer that you pumped up and then sprayed. It didn't work too good but I think I killed all the grass I sprayed it on. Maybe next year I'll put stones or an inorganic mulch on the place. Then, no weeds. No flowers either, but I only had three flowers and one dies and the other two look like death!

Last night I was complaining to Frank that I felt like a zombie. While he was working on some sort of a protector for my computer, I looked the word zombie up. It has something to do with VooDoo-like being able to inhabit a dead body! I really didn't feel like THAT but I wasn't feeling too chipper mentally. I think it's the Effexor. I will see next week how I feel and I might go back to see Dr. Sharp and say I want off of the drug. I just don't want to talk to anyone. That's not good. You need to be able to talk to people. I'm smelling meat loaf...I'd better go check of it's progress.

Trip to Huntsville

I think the Effexor has a tiring effect on me. I want to go back to bed after breakfast for a little while. It feels good and I usually have no pressing thing to do.

My trip to H'ville was uneventful. I didn't even stop by Hobby Lobby when I had the 40% off coupon. I did stop by Wal-Mart in Athens to get 4 pair of children's scissors. I found 2 pair that I had. Now I hope the 4-5 yr.olds know how to use them, for we will be cutting out things Sunday. Maybe I'll take the Play Dough too.

Frank just asked for supper so I'd better stop and go to the kitchen and see what I can scare up!

No Exercise Today

I got up at 7:50 AM which is too late to get to the Senior Ctr. in time for the exercises, so I lounged around and read the Ensign. Later, I went to the P.O. and mailed a package, took a lump of clothes to the Salvation Army and then stopped by Tuesday Morning. I got a box to mail Mary Kate's Christmas cards in and a twin set of sheets, 250 thread count. They should feel really soft. They only cost $15.00. Tomorrow, I go see Dr. Sharp at 2:00 PM.

The new Ensign came yesterday and I've already read it. I had gotten into the bad habit of not reading the magazine. It really makes me feel good so I'm reading all the ones I missed. We got some rain today but it was just enough to settle the dust, so it didn't really do us any good.

Cancer Meeting Tonight

I went to the Wellness Ctr. for the therapy pool. I went around 1:30 PM thinking no one else would be there. There was only one person, a very large man. The water in the pool was very deep and the man was in the space I wanted (I imagine the water is a bit shallower there) so I had to move on out toward the middle of the pool. The side of the pool says 3'9'', but the water was up to my chin when I was flat footed! I couldn't walk using my heel-I was tip toeing when I walked, so I figured I wasn't doing the exercises right and wouldn't get the benefit of the exercise, so I got out after 15 min. I took a shower so I wouldn't smell like cholorine.

The cancer support group meets every 4th Tue. There were 9-10 ladies there and two were new. The time went fast because it was so interesting. We even went 30 min. over, but everyone had a good time. Mary Lou Hill goes now also.

Frank had fevers today. He thinks it's because the cereal he's been eating has vitamins in it. Allen Bros. sent us an advertisement for meat and I think we're going to order some. Our meals lack the protein we need and red meat provides lots of protein (plus fat, etc.)

I've started driving 55 MPH instead of 60. Maybe I can save some gas by driving slower. I see Dr. Sharp this Thursday. The Effexor has really made a big difference in the way I feel. I'm glad I feel better and don't have the mood swings like I did.

Goodies Goodies

I went to exercise today and after that I went to Goodies. It was 9:30 AM and Goodies wasn't open, so I went to Wal-Mart. They were selling one subject spiral notebooks for 10 cents so I got 12! I have a 12 yr. supply of spiral notebooks! I also got some silcone caulk for the freezer in the basement. There's a crack in the gasket and Frank thinks this silcone will fix it.

I killed enough time for Goodies to open. I find if I go to the Petite section I can find things that fit. I found 3 nice skirts and got three tops to go with them. I came home and removed an armful of clothes I can get rid of so I'll have more room in the closet.
At Wal-Mart, I got some earrings. Now, I need to get rid of some of my earrings so I'll have room for the new ones!

It was 94 degrees at 6:00 PM today. The radio said the temperature would get to 100 degrees but it would feel like 105! We haven't had any rain in about 6 weeks, too. Oh, for a good gully washer. Karen came over and picked some pears to can. The other tree is full too. I may go out and pick some to eat. They're small but they are tasty. I wish I had the whatever to can some myself.

Today

Today was an okay day. My Primary class was okay. I only had 3 kids but they weren't much interested in the lesson. I've looked at next week's lesson and they'll like it even less. Maybe I'll be inspired to do something. In the extra activities, it suggests salt clay again but it's only been one week since I did that. The children would love it. We'll see what else I can come up with. Four and five year olds don't have much of an attention span. I gave them the file folder games today and they literally "tore" through them. It seemed like a contest on who would finish first. They worked individually, but they were fast!

Trudy called and said they got home safely. And they did have a good vacation, all except that one bad day. Hey, the rain must fall sometimes but the sun is right there ready to come out again.(egads! I'm starting to sound like that little book I'm getting the stories from...it's called Good Stuff, a monthly collection of Insights and Inspiration. We've had it since 2003. I found it in the throne room. I like to read the little sayings.

Secret to Happiness

The secret to happiness and well-being is no mystery. All it takes is the ability to do the following:

Forget.
Apologize.
Admit errors.
Avoid mistakes.
Listen to advice.
Keep your temper.
Shoulder the blame.
Make the best to things.
Maintain high standards.
Think first and act accordingly.
Put the needs of others before your own.
Forgive.

Seem like a tall order? Then try slipping as many of these "secrets to happiness" into your day as possible. You'll soon be rewarded with a more positive outlook on life.

The Fence

There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him to hammer a nail in the back fence every time he lost control.

The first day the boy drove 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. His father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father led his son to the fence.

"You have done well, but look at the holes in the fence, he said. " When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like the nail holes. You can put a knife in a person and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say 'I'm sorry,' the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one."

Couldn't Do It

I tried to put another picture up but couldn't do it. Dad down loaded 111 pictures from Mary Kate's CD and the picture I wanted wouldn't come up. Waay! I've still got a lot to learn about this computer-Ho-ho-ho!

While Dad was asleep this morning, I went to Goodies to get some new earrings. I got a two piece outfit, coat and skirt, green coat, white and green print skirt, for only $18.00! I got a shirt and pants outfit, and a white shirt. All were on sale. I got some small earrings too.
The rest of the day was pretty slow.

The Deckers came by after the Ward July 24th party and showed us their new puppies. They are so cute! Karen is going to get some pears to put up. We have two trees full of pears. I picked one and it was getting some sugar in them. There's lots of little apples on the apple trees too. I put 4 jelly roll pans (cookie sheets with sides) of blueberries in the freezer. They will be good in the winter.

Sh-h-h-h! Artist in the Making

When Sadie stayed a week with us, I took her to Hobby Lobby and she choose a paint-by-number gift and couldn't wait to get started on it! I have done a few in my time and they are fun.

Went to exercise class this morning. My knees were complaining but by the time I got there they were pretty quiet. We do mostly range of motion exercises but I like the people there and I am getting out and moving three times a week. Got home and crumbled up some crackers for the outside birds and put water in the bird bath and then fixed lunch. Mary Kate called and asked if I had heard from Trudy, which I hadn't. I think their vacation in Atlanta hasn't been all that good. Hopefully, something that they do will be fun and rememberable. (just made up a word).

It's a slow day today for some reason. Frank's feeling better and is cleaning up his room. I need to do the same. I didn't even make up my bed this morning. I came back from exercising and lay in bed and read the Ensign. I really get a neat feeling when I read it, but I'm bad about not reading it. This will change. I played the piano for a while and am really disgusted with myself for letting the practice go. I had good reason, but I can't play worth a flip anymore. You do loose what you don't use.

Wal-Mart Returns

I hate Wal-mart! Why can't I stay away from there? Because it saves me money, that's why! Anyway, I went to take back some clothes and wanted to go today because tomorrow being Friday, it would be really crowded.

Bubba and Ruth came up around 10:00 AM to pick the rest of the blueberries. I got 4 jelly roll pans full in the freezer. They visited for a while and then went on their way. It was nice having company.

While I was out, I went by the Off Campus Bookstore and got 4 file folder games laminated. It cost me $4.50. After I got home,I cut everything out and put the Velcro on, so they are ready for the little hands to play with them.

Dad has been feeling better but he overdid it today. He and my brother changed the water filter on the kitchen sink. He was up clean up his room and getting things ready for the trash and he over did. Tomorrow is a new day.

This is the car we drove to Jasper in and I can't spell it's name-Miata, maybe?

Yesterday I drove into town early, around 10:00 AM, and gas was 3.99 a gallon. I went back into town at 12:15 PM and gas was 4.05 a gallon! I needed about 1/2 a tank but do you think I stopped earlier to fill up? NO! I only lost about 30 cents but that will add up.

Went to exercise today and walked about 30 Min. before the exercise began. After that, I went to Wal*Mart (I saw it spelled this way, with a little star between words on a Wal*Mart truck) to get some groceries. I also found a pair of pants and matching top for $6.00 each and I got Dad a nice looking pair of shorts. Of course they are going back (too thick) but I already have a few items to go back so that doesn't matter. We found a pair of shorts in his closet that he can wear since I set the button over so he can have more room in the waist (you know how clothes shrink in the dryer...). It would be nice to see him in newer lounging pants. Some of his pants look really old. Of course, they are the most comfortable ones.

Trudy and her family are going on vacation tonight. They will travel to LaGrange, GA to stay with Mary Kate and Richard and then they plan to see some of Atlanta, I believe. They will have a fun time. School starts Aug. 6, I heard on the radio. We didn't have to go back to school until after Labor Day in Sept! And we didn't get as many breaks as they do. Maybe we did, but they were called something else.

Tuesday-A Good Day

I was sitting here trying to think of what I did today and then I remembered! I got my hair cut. It's short but it will grow plus I won't have to use any hair spray and that will help Frank.

At about 1:30 PM, we went to vote in the Republican run off. Came home and did chores. Frank took the fan in the bathroom down and oiled it. I helped him by getting all of the dust off of the various parts. It runs fine now. I'm glad he's always been able to fix things around the home.

I'll (the phone rang and I forgot the thought I had...) I have lots of photos to post so maybe I'll have one or two up soon.

To Jasper

I got up at 5:00 AM this morning and left the house at 6:00 to get to my brother's house by 7:00. Since we were traveling in the Meata (sports car) with the top down, we wanted to get a jump on the heat. We drove to Walker Co., where Jasper is located, and found the cemetery and were able to fine the grave site of my grandfather and grandmother Palmer and my uncle and aunt Palmer. I took pictures and then we drove some more to mu brother's friend's house. After that, we drove to Northport, which is a suburb of Tuscaloosa where the campus of the University of Alabama is. We both graduated from there and we drove around the campus. Things had changed so much I barely recognized any thing! We went to see the house where my brother used to live in Tuscaloosa, and then on home. I had about 40 minutes to drive before I got home and I was tired! It was a good day.

Good Sabboth Day

I was a bit late in finishing the preparation for my Primary lesson so I finished it off Fri. and Sat.
Since my kids are 4-6 yrs. old, the lesson is just something that has to get done before the fun stuff starts. Today the lesson was on saying ,"Thank You". One of the extra helps said to make salt dough and the kids could make a bowl or something to make them remember to say thank you to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Well! The dough really was a keeper! The kids (all 4 of them) loved the salt dough. They weren't very original in what they made but they enjoyed it. I made a bowl by making a snake and wrapping it around itself and then making a bottom for it. Then, I made a bird's nest and put little eggs in it. I spent the rest of class making nests and eggs for everybody and then I had to make a bird to sit on the eggs. That took up 30 minutes and we ended the class with the dough. They all took it home with them. I had a little left and Cathryn told her older brother, age 6, about it and he came for the rest of the dough. I was glad to give to him the left over dough and he even said thank you!

Card Party

After having family here for 5 days, I hadn't checked my e-mail. I had 60 e-mails! One was Mary Rager telling about the card party today. It was from 10:00-12:00 PM. There were 6 ladies there and it was a bit wild for me, as I'm a bit slower than some of them. We made 4 beautiful cards. I'll never take the time to make such entailed cards, but it is fun to do.

Dad was still sick to his stomach today. I went into town to Westside Pharmacy to see what they had for nausea. I got some medicine and two small bottles of blue cap Maalox. The medicine didn't help, so I went into town to Herbs and More and got a bottle of homeopathic pills and a box of saltines. The homeopathic meds worked. We ate a bowl of noodles without the hot seasonings and they were good. I finished off the blueberry pancakes I made for breakfast and finished that off with some blueberries! The blueberries turn my mouth purple and I have to brush my teeth really good to get rid of all the purple! I also gave a card to Dad to apologize for some unkind words I said.

I hope I'm ready for my Primary lesson tomorrow. The lesson is about saying "Thank You". I've made thank you cards for them to color and I made some salt dough for them to make something to put by their beds to remind them to be thankful for all the Lord has done for them. I've got lots of file folder games for the extra time I'll have. I've also got stories from the Friend I can tell. Surely, I'm ready!

Dad's Sick

Dad has been sick for about 2 weeks. He used to have "good" days every other day, but recently, he's only had bad days. He's been sick at his stomach lately, which is new.

Last Monday, Frankie had his neck operated on. He spent two days in the hospital. The kids are upset about having to stay with Ward members and it's really gotten to the entire family. I hope Frankie will talk with his Bishop.

The Effexor I've taking for 2 weeks has been the medicine I've needed. It was a year ago when I went off the Effexor and the Depakote. The Depakote was the one that was keeping me depressed. I feel much better now that I'm taking a low dose of Effexor.

Sandy and Edward Sommerfeld will be visiting us this Sunday. Sandy's mother passed away and they came down to Russellville to take care of the family. It will be good to see them again. We really love them.

Full Day

Yesterday, Monday, Mary Kate, the kids, and I went to the Space and Rocket Center in H'ville. We got there about 10:30 AM and stayed until 3:30 PM. We walked a lot and rode rides and saw a movie that was a lot of propaganda for the space program. I think going to Mars is a bunch of whooie. We had a great time at the Space and Rocket Museum. After we came home, we picked blueberries and walked down to feed Danny Boy an apple but we couldn't find him so we came home.

Today we got up early and went to the Wellness Ctr. Mary Kate wanted to co to the Spinnin' class and I walked in the therapy pool. Sophia was in the nursery and Nate stayed home and watched T.V. We came home and gathered up a lot of stuff to carry to the Salvation Army. We got the downstairs bathroom cleaned out pretty good. Mary Kate is taking my desk home with her and that will free up some more space. If we didn't have so many empty boxes, we would have even more room!

It's so hot outside, we tried to find a pool the kids could go to. The city pool is very full. The kids are busy. Nate is coloring his Batman coloring book and Sophia is making a pot holder on a weaving loom. Mary Kate is trying to take a short nap. I was thinking about asking Brenda Adams if the kids could come over and take a dip in their pool and swap the dip with some blueberries! Would that be to rude to ask? We'll see.

Good Sabboth

My Primary class was good. I only had four children but the activities I planned were well received. The lesson was on Gratitude and the children were to draw something they were grateful for. I decided for them-they were grateful for birds! I cut out lots of bird pictures from catalogs and gave each one a sheet of card stock and they picked out the pictures they liked and glued them to the card stock. I also had real bird feathers to give them. They liked the feathers for they didn't loose them in the room! We did some bean bag toss and told things they were grateful for. I was less stressed out today and really enjoyed it.

I finished the last of 6 file folder games. I have four to laminate and can take them to church with me for my next lesson. I also ordered three file folder books with games already laminated and ready to go. I'll never have to color another file folder game again!

Mary Kate the the kids were here when I got home from church. It was good to see them. They had spent the day and night with Trudy and her family. We're going to the Space and Rocket Center some day, maybe tomorrow. Sophia is SO excited about going!

Hole In the Wall 4th

I didn't have any grocery money left to get something special for the 4th of July. It would have been nice to have something special but we get by on the usual. There's fire works at
Athens High football field that I was going to see if Frankie's family wanted to go see, but since Frankie is scheduled for neck surgery Mon., July 7th, they decided it would be best if they didn't do any traveling right before the operation. I'm not interested in going. We'll just watch some fire works on T.V.

Dad just drilled a hole in the wall of his bedroom to hang his ham radio on. He didn't have any room on his other bed. All the available spaces were filled with other important "stuff", so he'll lie on his computer bed to talk on the radio.

I colored and cut out 2 file folder games today. I now have 3 to be laminated. Last night I ordered 3 books of file folder games already colored, cut out and Velcro-ed and ready to go. The games were $3.00 a game and I got three books. They said if the books were already sold out, they would credit my account. If I get those books, I'll never have to make a file folder game again! Mary Kate said, "What if I didn't teach that class anymore?". Well, I'll never resign! They can't get me out! I'll never go quietly! Ha-ha! Why would a Primary Presidency want to get rid of a stellar teacher who will always be there? I am really beginning to enjoy the class. I just need to keep coming up with games and time fillers so everyone will be happy.

Garbage Day

At 4:00 PM I realized the garbage needed to be collected and put out for the neighbor boys to take to the road. That's a small thing but it is really appreciated because I have to take the garbage out to the road.

I went into town to get Dad's shoes from the cobbler. He was having them stretched bigger in every way. I went on to Wal-Mart to get some cereal and found another $6.00 blouse I liked. It's 99% cotton and is a true blue color. I like the green one I got the other day. I was also looking for a boom box for Primary. Wal-Mart didn't have anything that would play CD's and tapes. I got mine from Radio Shack. Mary Kate said to wait until she got here and we would find one. Primary doesn't have one and I don't know about the Ward library. It would be nice to play some music in class. I need to work on my lesson for Sun. I've got a lot done but need to study the body of the lesson more.

Middle of the Week

I went into town for the exercise class. I could tell I hadn't done those movements in a week! After the exercises, I came on home. I colored some file folder pictures. Karen came over at 1:00 PM and I finished up with my second game and we went to the Off Campus Book Store to get them laminated. Karen had some to get laminated too. After that, we went to this new store, Rue something or another, and I bought a purse that will act as a bag to carry the file folder games in. The tag said it was $9.99 but it rang up for $5.00! Then we came home and she showed me how to put the velcro on the folders. It was pretty simple! I sure wish the coloring wasn't so tedious (I think I've said that somewhere before...).

The Primary lesson is on Gratitude and one of the helps for the lesson said to talk about pets and how we are grateful for them. I decided the children would be grateful for birds! I cut out lots of pictures of birds from our bird catalogs (I thought children's scissors would have a hard time cutting the thin paper). I've got some card stock for the kids to glue the bird pictures to and I've got some pictures of our birds for them to look at. Plus, I have a real bird feather to give them. I think I'll add a basket to the large load I take to church each Sunday and we can toss the bean bags into the basket and tell what we are grateful for.

Early Morning Hours

I think I woke up at 3:30 this morning. I listened to the radio and then dozed until 7:00 AM. Got up and took a shower, got dressed, got Dad's breakfast and was on the road to Wal-Mart about 9:30 AM. I got the Velcro plus some card stock and then wandered over to the clothes... I got 2 blouses and some PJ's. On the way to check out, I saw some necklaces and earrings.....I spent a chunk of change when I only went for 2 items! That's okay. I feel good about my purchases.

I cut out and colored two of the file folder games. The next step will be laminating them. I have a lot more to color and cut out. I've started studying for my Sunday lesson. It's on Gratitude. The opening activity has the children coming up and taking a spoonful of water out of a container and putting it into a cup and telling one thing that they are grateful for. At first, I thought I would skip it, but then after I got in the kitchen and collected all of the objects, I knew the children would enjoy the activity. It will be messy but who cares?! I need to think of things I can do with bean bags. Maybe I will go see what Toys R Us has in the way of bean bag games. Surely, I can get something from the internet about it. That's what I'm going to do right now. Bye!
